Sam Diaz is El Paso-born and a resident of San Antonio for nearly twenty years. In other words, she’s a proud Texan through and through.
After dedicating two decades to banking, she found that the mortgage business offered her the opportunity to help others in more meaningful ways. After a colleague introduced her to Aligned Mortgage, she realized that the company’s mission to educate Veterans about their VA Home Loan benefits fit in perfectly with her goals. With Veterans among her family members and loved ones, she knows the importance of educating servicemembers – former and current – on the lasting benefits of using their VA Home Loan when purchasing properties.
Her father, a Vietnam Vet, never used his VA Home Loan benefit to purchase a home, and she aims to ensure that others don’t lose out. As a residential mortgage loan originator, one of the most fulfilling aspects of Sam’s job is guiding her clients through the VA Home Loan process, then seeing the joy on their faces when they close on their homes, keys in hand.
Sam loves working with her clients, and she knows that every home is special to them. She’s also aware that every Veteran has a story, and she doesn’t shy away from those who present a particular challenge. She sees her job as not only informing them about VA Loans but also ensuring that the decisions they make will advance their goals.
When she’s not helping Veterans, Sam relaxes in her off time by cooking and gardening, taking road trips, and dividing her time between her daughter, who’s in college, and her significant other, Efren, and their three rescue dogs and cat. And, of course, she’s a serious Spurs fan.
Our mission is to aggressively serve veterans and their families through education and facilitation of the VA Home Loan Benefit while advocating for our local military and veteran community.
