Holly Mauricio spent a fair amount of time traveling with her parents when she was young. Both of them did stints in the Air Force. But San Antonio is her birthplace, and it’s where she and her daughter have put down deep roots with no plans to budge any time soon.
Although her sister joined the Army, Holly opted for a more traditional education and attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, earning her BA in finance. Not long after landing a job in her chosen field in 2008, Holly felt the force of the financial crisis that hit when the stock market crashed. As a single mother with a daughter to raise, Holly had no intention of becoming a victim without options. So she temporarily put her degree in finance on the shelf, got her teaching certificate, and then spent five years as a math teacher at Harlandale Middle School. As a bonus, while she waited for the market to recover, she got to spend her free summers with her daughter.
However, when Holly learned about Aligned Mortgage, she immediately connected with the company’s mission to educate Veterans on their VA Home Loan benefit. She saw this as the ideal way to get back into the financial sector while using her teaching skills on adults who were keen to learn.
In her current position as a loan officer, she holds licenses in nearly a dozen states, including Texas, Tennessee, the Carolinas, Oregon, California, and Illinois. She attracts many of her out-of-state clients from Aligned Mortgage’s online seminars. Her primary goals are to educate her clients and make them feel at ease during the loan process. Holly’s reward comes when she sees the joy on clients’ faces who didn’t think they could ever own homes. Helping them create a legacy for their family gives her purpose.
When she’s away from the office, Holly spends time with her teenage daughter, Avery, reading non-fiction and tracking down the latest new restaurant with friends.
Our mission is to aggressively serve veterans and their families through education and facilitation of the VA Home Loan Benefit while advocating for our local military and veteran community.
